A-Core was founded from one man’s desire to make enough money to feed his family. It has now grown to 16 offices in 10 states with over 400 employees and growing.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our accounting and finance team. This role will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy of financial records, with a heavy focus on balance sheet reconciliations, job costing, intercompany transactions, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, ideally within the construction industry, and thrive in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment. This position will report to the Corporate Controller and will be located in our Murray, Utah headquarters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform month-end and year-end accounting close procedures
  • Perform audits of company's financial transactions and prepare documentation for accounting control procedures
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and entities
  • Prepare periodic reports for company's executives and regional managers
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed asset records
  • Support the year-end audit and tax preparation processes
  • Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to ensure proper coding and reporting of expenses
  • Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Minimum of 0-2 years of professional/ educational experience;
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Excel, Sage, ComputerEase, or Acumatica);
  • Excellent research and project management skills with focus on documentation and organization;
  • Demonstrates ability to successfully work with others and build strong cross organizational relationships;
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting;
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications are:

  • Advanced degree in Accounting; CPA or CMA certification would be a bonus
